Hardware Requirements for Disk Streaming

Disk Streaming requires revision D of the FCBB card (part number 20501792) and revision 16 of

the FPGA, which resides on the FCBB card.

To determine the FPGA revision level for E_Port configurations, use the following commands:

• For E_Port configurations, use the fccnt dump backbone command.

• For F_Port configurations, use the fccnt dump switchport command.

The storage devices and associated applications which are supported and non-supported for Disk

Streaming are listed in the UltraNet Edge Storage Router - 3000 Series User Guide in the “E_Port

Disk Streaming Network Recommendations” section.

Compatibility Requirements

The following sections provide hardware and software dependencies.

Compatible Operating System Configurations

The UltraNet Edge 3000 operating system (OS) version is not backward compatible with previous

versions. Table 1-3 shows the compatible operating system configurations.

The Edge OS version is supported with the 3.1.1.4 or 3.1.1.3 hardware (see the Minimum

Hardware Level section on page 1-2 to determine your hardware level). If one Edge unit in the

network requires a hardware upgrade, the software must also be upgraded to OS version. When the

OS is upgraded on one end of the network, it must also be upgraded on the remote end.
